Students recently participated in workshops about School Bus Safety. The workshops, organized by Cindy House from Safely on Board, are interactive and informative for all ages.
First Ride: The First Ride Experience is an interactive and hands on event, comprised of both classroom and on-board presentations and a short School Bus ride, which introduces both new kindergarten students and their parents to School Bus safety rules and procedures. Click here to learn more.
Kindergarten: The Kindergarten program is interactive and hands on. A very lively puppet educates students about basic rules by using story boards. Students board a School Bus to review an emergency evacuation. Click here to learn more.
Grade 1-3: Students learn about the importance of staying away from the School Bus and "Danger Zone. They also gather knowledge about how to safely cross and where emergency equipment and exits are located. Click here to learn more.
Grade 4-6: Students learn about the importance of staying away from the School Bus and "Danger Zone and about the dangers of disobeying the School Bus Rules. Click here to learn more.
Junior and Senior High: Students participate in a real life game show experience to test their School Bus safety knowledge. The game show is followed by a mock disaster scenario. Click here to learn more.
Principal Rick Horon says students really enjoyed the program which was very thorough. He added that they learned a lot and appreciated the sessions.
