Elizabeth School students visit Cold Lake High School

Grade 8 students recently went to Cold Lake High School for a tour and to participate in some of the options they offer. The school is a large facility with about 570 students. The morning was spent in the high school's shop class where the students made houses for brown bats. Afterwards they spent some time in the computer lab working with 3-D sketch software and enjoyed learning some of the basics.  The afternoon was spent touring the building.

The principal and vice-principal answered the students' questions about sports programs, academic supports and extra-curricular clubs.  The staff at Cold Lake High School made the students from Elizabeth feel at home and we were impressed with both the facility and programs offered.  Cold Lake High administrators make efforts to ensure that the students from feeder schools such as ours can make the adjustment easily by keeping them with their familiar peers for the first year. Many of our students were excited about the prospect of going there next year.
